The SDFC Player:
- A professional attitude towards training.
- Leadership skills, social skills, confidence, motivation and desire to succeed.
- The ability to perform techniques with both feet under pressure.
- An understanding of the game and developed decision making in game situations
- Knowledge of playing in a number of positions and an understanding of roles & responsibilities on the field of play
- An understanding of team work both on and off the field
What to expect from SDFC:
- At least 2 team training sessions per week
- Additional training opportunities - Individual/small group position specific training
- Qualified coaches with experience in professional youth development.
- Coaches available to players and parents for meetings and guidance.
- Learning through structured sessions consisting of technical practices, game-related practices (1v1, 2v2 etc.), and small sided games
- Use of full fielded training exercises (functions, phases of play etc.) to develop patterns of play, decision making and game awareness
- A challenging training environment that allows players to be creative without fear of making mistakes
- Regular communication and use of video clips to reinforce learning
- Use of some of NJ’s finest all weather training facilities and modern training equipment
- Entry to high level tournaments on a state, regional and national level
- Coach feedback and evaluations
- Physiological, psychological and nutritional guidance
